Words to live by

WE WERE ARRESTED. SPIT ON BY SKIERS RIDING THE CHAIRLIFT. WE WOULD HIKE FOR MILES TO GET ONE RUN. OUR PARENTS DIDN'T UNDERSTAND. PEOPLE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND. WE RODE AT NIGHT SO WE WOULDN'T GET CAUGHT. THERE WERE NO CONTESTS. NO MAGAZINES. NO LIFT TICKETS. NO GIRLS IN BIKINIS. NO HIGHBACKS. NO FASHION. AND SEVERAL PANT SIZES. AT THE END OF EVERY YEAR WE BURNERED OUR OLD BOARDS IN A GIANT bonfire. AS A SACRIFICE FOR BETTER SNOW NEXT SEASON. SOMETIMES IT WORKED, SOMETIMES IT DIDN'T. WE SAID WE'D RIDE FOREVER, WE SAID WE'D MAKE CLOTHES THAT WOULD RIDE FOREVER. WE DO.
